Winnie the Pooh Games and Activities:
Winnie the Pooh Puzzler: Before the party print out Pooh pictures. Stick each picture onto some construction paper. Cut the pictures into 4, 8 or 12 puzzle pieces. Hide the pieces around the party area. The guests each need to find one puzzle piece and then find the the players with the matching pieces. These images can also be used for desktop wallpaper and party posters.
Bouncing Tigger Race: Give each guest a pillowcase and have them step into it. Use spray paint if playing outside, and masking tape if playing inside, to mark a starting line and ending line several yards apart. When you say “Go!” the guests start to hop like Tigger toward the finish line. Whoever makes it there first wins! (For added effect, play Tigger’s famous “bouncy” song as the children compete!)
Heffalump Hunt: Before the party cut out a few pictures of Lumpy the Heffalump (different sizes) and paste them among lots of other pictures (Pooh-related or not) on a big sheet of poster board or construction paper. During the Party: Divide your guests into two teams. Sit both teams down in front of the picture board. Flip a coin to see which team goes first. The first team has 20 seconds to find one of the Heffalump pictures. If they find one, they get a point. Then the next team has 20 seconds to find a Heffalump picture. Continue playing until all the pictures are found.
Honey Pot Drop: Give each child 10 gummy bears. Have the child stand on a chair (with adults on either side to supervise) and set the “honey pot” (large clay pot or flower pot) directly beneath them in front of the chair. Have the child try to drop as many of his or her gummy bears as possible into the pot below. Whoever gets the most gummy bears into the pot wins!
How Many Bees in the Jar? Fill a glass jar with yellow and black jelly beans. (Remember to count the jelly beans as you place them in the jar, so you know how many are included.) As your guests arrive, ask them to take a guess at how many “bees” are in the jar. Whoever comes closest to the actual number of jelly beans wins the jar of bees!
Bees in the Garden Game: Draw a flower shape on cardboard about 1 m square. Make the center of the flower about 20 cm in diameter. Cut out the center of the flower and colour in the flower petals. Attach the flower to a stake and place in the ground. Draw a line about 6 feet in front of it. Make three "bees" by drawing black stripes and antennae on small yellow tennis balls. Give the first guest the three "bees" and let them try to toss each bee through the center of the flower. Award the guest a small prize, such as a sticker or piece of candy, for each bee he/she gets through the hole. Award a slightly larger prize if the player makes all three bees through the hole. Allow each guest to have at least one turn. |
