Spiderman Games and Activities:
The Fun Begins: Dress the birthday boy like Spiderman and welcome each guest
with a Spiderman hat.
Spiderman Face Painting: You will need: Face Paint in red, black, and white; Face paint brushes; Clean-up supplies (paper towels, water, makeup remover, etc.); Newspaper. Preparation: Lay newspaper around the space where you will be doing the face painting, and set out your supplies. During the Party: Use our Spiderman above, as a guide to painting you little Spiderman.
Photo Shoot: You can expand the above activity into a photo shoot by setting up a city scene using painted cardboard boxes, or a large sheet of butcher paper, and letting each child pose in front of it for a photo, once their face is painted. These pictures will be great to include with your thank-you notes!
Spiderman's Web Walk Game: Just like a cake walk with webs! Cut circles from poster board. Use a permanent marker to draw spider webs. In the center if each web write a number 1-3. Make corresponding number cards as well. To play: Place the webs in a circle. Play Spiderman theme music (or any fun music) and have the children step from web to web. When the music stops, draw one of the numbers from a bag. The players that are standing on the webs with that number, get a sticker or candy. Play this game several times until every player has received a treat.
Venom Tag Game: You can actually play this with any of the Spiderman villains. A simple game of tag to release party energy is always a fun addition. Select one player to be the villain. When the game begins the villain chases the other players. Once a player is tagged, they become the new villain. Establish a safe place using black streamers, to make a web or simply name a tree "Aunt May's house". This will be where the children go when they need a rest. If possible, ensure the play is fair and that all of the children are allowed a turn to be the villain. A party is no place to have hurt feelings!
Spiders: Draw 2 circles on the start line. Divide the players into 2 teams. Stand each team in a circle. Rope the players of each team together. So, each team is "a spider". At the leader's command "the spiders" begin to move to the finish-line. On the finish line there are 2 more circles. The spiders must get to them as fast as possible.
Spider Catch: Hide plastic spiders throughout the party area. Leave some completely visible, so they act as Spider Man party decor. At game time, explain to the kids that some of spiders have gotten loose from a research lab. Instruct the party guests to search for and collect the spiders.
Fearless Crawler Course: The kids can get a taste of what Spiderman deals with using a creative obstacle course. Set the course up, so the children have to: walk along a narrow board, jump over a pile of trees, run around chairs, etc. (If playing indoors, use such objects as small table, stack of books, wastebasket, pile of toys, etc.) Line the kids up in single file. One by one, have them run through the obstacle course while you time them with a stopwatch. The fastest child wins!
Spiderman Photo Fun: Divide the kids into two teams. Explain that they are all photographers for The Daily Bugle, just like Peter Parker. They must go around taking pictures of the party area to document the event. Hand out a single-use camera to each team, and make sure the guests pass the camera around so all children get a chance to take photos.
Watch the Show: At the end of the Spiderman birthday party, invite the kids to watch a fragment of Spiderman movie to unwind after active games.
Decorations: Make lots of spider webs out of cotton in your backyard, and attach plastic spiders. Play Spider Man theme music in the background. Mount a sign on the front door that says "Welcome to Spiderman birthday party!", and hang a plastic spider from the door. |
