Pretty Princess Games & Activities:
A Special Welcome: Announce the guests upon arrival and present them with their very own Royal Princess or Prince Crown (local dollar store). Then direct the children to the colouring castle. Where they will colour and play, until all of the guests have arrived. End the party with this quiet colouring time as well to settle the kids down. Parents will really appreciate the thought!
Princess Beauty Salon: Upon arrival, escort the girl guests to the Princess Beauty Salon, where they will receive a small amount of lipstick, blush, eye shadow and hair braids to help them transform into Princesses. You can also have a fingernail painting station and offer a couple of different Princess colours. If you have not already suggested the girls wear their favorite Princess ball gown ... provide a box of special dress up clothes and a mirror.
Princess Treasure Boxes: You can take lots of hard small cardboard boxes, spray-paint them with gold or silver spray-paint, and give each guest a treasure box when they arrive. They can then decorate the box with sequins, jewels, plastic diamonds, etc. At the end of the party each guest's treasure box can be their favor box, you can put all of their party favors in their treasure boxes.
Frog, Frog, Princess Game:
A variation on duck, duck, goose, this fun classic can be modified also by having the kids hop like frogs around the circle rather than running.
Her Favourite Things Game: Place several items on a tray or cookie sheet. Try to find items that work with the Princess theme: tiara, lipstick, wand or royal scepter, silver spoon, jewelry, handkerchief etc. One player leaves the room. Remove one or two items from the tray. When the player returns they must guess what's missing. Repeat until every child has a turn.
Balloon Pop: Insert little trinkets and candy into balloons to be blown up and thrown around and eventually popped to get to the goodies.
Find the King's Treasure Game: Hide plastic gold coins throughout the party area. Explain to the children that the "Royal Treasure" has been scattered through out the land by some mischievous little pixies. Their task is to retrieve the coins and place them back into the treasure chest, which is a gold painted shoe box.
Cinderella's Glass Slipper Game: Before the party create a "glass slipper" using a dollar store princess slipper. You will also need an old shoe for game time. Position the girls into a circle. Pass the shoe around the circle while music is playing. Ring a bell to signal the stroke of midnight. The player holding the slipper when the bell rings, receives the old shoe to hold, while sitting in the middle. She is then in charge of the bell ringing for the next round. At the end of the game every player receives a Disney Princess prize; necklace, ring, etc.
Pass the Tiara Game: Play this game just as you would "Hot Potato". Position the guests into a circle. Pass a fancy princess tiara from player to player, around the circle while music is playing. When the music stops the player holding the tiara will sit in the center for one round or she can be in charge of the music for one round.
