Pretty Princess Games & Activities:
Princess Colouring Castle: Create a princess castle for the children to decorate, using a large appliance box. You can spray paint it or cover the box with butcher paper, before the party. Provide markers and crayons for the children use for decorating. This will not only serve as a great party decoration, but it will also provide plenty of party entertainment for you little princesses. They can colour and play in the castle throughout the birthday party.
A Special Welcome: Announce the guests upon arrival and present them with their very own Royal Princess or Prince Crown (local dollar store). Then direct the children to the colouring castle. Where they will colour and play, until all of the guests have arrived. End the party with this quiet colouring time as well to settle the kids down. Parents will really appreciate the thought!
Princess Beauty Salon: If it's an all-girl party, you can have everyone arrive straight to the Princess birthday party beauty salon. Have a large mirror standing or hanging on a wall, add lots of lighting, and each arriving guest can get a touch of blush, shiny lip-gloss, and braids in her hair to help her transform into a Princess. You can also have a fingernail painting station you can offer a couple of different colours and suitable stickers or glitter to jazz up the activity (allow plenty of time to let their nails dry!
Princess Treasure Boxes: You can take lots of hard small cardboard boxes, spray-paint them with gold or silver spray-paint, and give each guest a treasure box when they arrive. They can then decorate the box with sequins, jewels, plastic diamonds, etc. At the end of the party each guest's treasure box can be their favor box, you can put all of their party favors in their treasure boxes.
Princess Snow Globes: Each guest gets a baby food jar (or any other little jar or clear water bottle for that matter). They then add star-shaped and heart-shaped sequins, glitter, water, baby oil and blue food coloring - and VOILA - a beautiful Princess setting in their hands!! (just to make sure, have an adult secure the tops of the Princess snow globes with hot glue so that the fluid doesn't drain out.)
Balloon Pop: Insert little trinkets and candy into balloons to be blown up and thrown around and eventually popped to get to the goodies.
Find the King's Treasure Game: Hide plastic gold coins throughout the party area. Explain to the children that the "Royal Treasure" has been scattered through out the land by some mischievous little pixies. Their task is to retrieve the coins and place them back into the treasure chest, which is a gold painted shoe box.
Cross the Moat Game: Mark two lines in the grass or play area approximately 20 feet apart. Pick one player to be the "dragon" of the "moat," and have this player stand in the middle of the play area. The other players are "princes" and "princesses," and they should stand behind one of the lines marking the play area. To start the game, the dragon yells, "Try and cross!" All of the princes and princesses must then try to run across the moat, past the opposite line without being tagged by the dragon. Any prince or princess the dragon tags must become part of the dragon's tail by joining hands with the dragon or any other players in the dragon's tail. All players that have become part of the tail must run with the dragon to catch the remaining players. The last player to be caught is the winner and can be the next dragon.
Pass the Tiara Game: Play this game just as you would "Hot Potato". Position the guests into a circle. Pass a fancy princess tiara from player to player, around the circle while music is playing. When the music stops the player holding the tiara will sit in the center for one round or she can be in charge of the music for one round.
Princess Puzzler: Before the party print out Princess pictures 1, 2, 3. Attach each picture onto some construction paper with a glue stick. Cut the pictures into 4, 8, or 12 puzzle pieces. Hide the pieces around the party area. The girls each need to find one puzzle piece and then find the the players with the matching pieces. These images can also be used for desktop wallpaper.
